The new English Curriculum Standard sets the goal of “strengthening guidance for students’ learning strategies and laying the foundation for their lifelong learning.” In the upper primary text teaching, teachers should not only guide the students to read and understand the text, but also develop the students’ ability to acquire, analyze, arrange and apply the text information during reading.
