半干旱农牧交错带玄武岩和沙质沉积物上发育的典型草原土壤──粟钙土形成于距今6000~8000年以前。随着时间的进程,它经历了有机质积累与分解,碳酸盐淀积与淋溶,元素氧化物迁移与富集,以及风沙堆积等作用。近二百余年来,栗钙土在人为强度活动,开垦种植和过度放牧经营管理下,土壤理化性质渐趋恶化,从而反映出演变过程中的土壤退化现象。
Semi-arid agro-pastoral ecotones with basaltic rocks and sandy sediments on the typical grassland soil ─ ─ cornulite soil dating from 6000 to 8000 years ago. As time goes by, it has undergone such functions as accumulation and decomposition of organic matter, carbonate deposition and leaching, migration and enrichment of elemental oxides, and deposition of wind and sand. In the recent two hundred years, the soil physicochemical properties of the chestnut soil deteriorated gradually under artificial intensity activities, reclamation planting and overgrazing management, thus reflecting the phenomenon of soil degradation during the evolution.
