Recently, Compaq research laboratories and IBM research center, AltaVista scientists work together to successfully draw the world’s first Internet structure panorama, and put forward the “bow” theory. The study, based on more than 600 million different webpages, shows that the entire Internet can be basically divided into four regions that have a “bow” relationship to each other and contain approximately the same number of web pages in each region . The findings further point out that there is a large number of sites that are currently inaccessible to Internet users using the most common routes. This research is one of the largest studies of the Internet configuration
