[Objective] To evaluate the role of wild-type p53 and Cerb-B-2 gene in the resection of anastomotic stoma in gastric cancer. [Method] Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of wild type p53 and Cerb-B-2 gene in 25 patients with anastomotic recurrence of gastric cancer and 32 patients without recurrence of anastomosis. [Results] The positive rate of wild-type p53 and Cerb-B-2 gene in the anastomotic recurrence group was 40.00% and 28.00% respectively, but no recurrence was 12.50% and 6.25% in the anastomotic recurrence group (all P <0.05). [Conclusion] The expressions of p53 and Cerb-B-2 gene are correlated with the recurrence of anastomotic stoma in patients with gastric cancer, which may be used as a risk factor to evaluate the recurrence of anastomotic stoma.
