棉花辐射后代的各种经济性状变异较大,但多数是不利变异,有利变异约千分之一、二左右。其后代的分离现象基本上与杂交后代相同。培育有希望的突变体,首先必须采用较理想的基因型,并对辐射后代进行严格细致的鉴定,因此筛选获得综合性状优良突变体的时间,不会过分早于杂交育种。但在提高抗性,纤维强度,细度及株型紧凑等单一优良性状变异方面,与自然突变及杂交相比,具有频率较高、稳定较快的特点。
Varieties of economic traits of cotton radiation offspring vary greatly, but most are unfavorable variations, favorable variations of about one thousandth, two or so. The segregation of their offspring is basically the same as the offspring of hybrids. To cultivate promising mutants, we must first adopt a more desirable genotype and conduct rigorous and meticulous identification of the progeny of the radionuclides. Therefore, it is not too early to screen hybrids for elite mutants with good traits. However, compared with natural mutation and hybridization, it has the characteristics of higher frequency, stable and faster in improving the single superior trait variation such as resistance, fiber strength, fineness and plant type compactness.
