士父钟是西周青铜器中的标准器物之一,郭沫若《两周金文辞大系图录考释》一书中著录有士父钟(3件)的铭文,并有对铭文的考释,但没有发表图像。清人吴大澂在《愙斋集古录释文賸稿》中说:“右叔氏钟 (即士父钟之二) 旧为汉阳叶氏所藏,今不知所在。”《愙斋集古录》所用拓片旁有“叶氏所藏”的朱文印章可证,但以后便不知此钟下落。近来在湖南省博物馆藏品中发现了士父钟1件,馆藏编号为25047,原号为殷(八)4:1(图版柒:1)。此钟即士父钟之二,是原湖南省文物管理委员会于1956年在株洲
