I have been totally silence over this for a long period of time. But for sure, I won’t ever forget it. It’s certainly kind of a permanent memory.
We have been classmates since our senior high school. But we didn’t really know each other until we sat together or that we became deskmates.
We were both very shy. So we didn’t even talk much at first. And you can imagine how happy I was when he greeted me on the way after one month or two for the first time. I had a strong basic skill of English knowledge and his oral English was excellent, so we enjoyed a good time working together on the language. Then, step by step, we talked more, laughed more as well as improved more. Just like a miracle, we both became open and clear. We were so outspoken to each other that we almost talked about everything and also enjoyed spending our time together.
As time went on, a strange feeling became obvious in my heart that I just liked to be with him. I don’t know whether it was love, but I just thought that he had so clever a mind and so graceful a behavior, he was so practical when speaking English and so cool when playing basketball, and the most important, he was always so gentle to me. I just felt a strange feeling. It’s just a feeling.
When we became seniors, the almost black season, we were apart. His new deskmate was an outstanding girl who always got the first place in exams. Then, I didn’t know why he didn’t talk to me any more. It seemed that we became strangers within just one night. I was so sad when I came to think that I would lose the feeling forever and that he would never know my feeling at all! Oh, just a feeling, my real feeling!
Now, I have come to the northeast area of China and he’s gone to the southeast. We have lost touch with each other and we both have started a new life in colleges.
Love or not, but certainly a beautiful memory I’ll always miss. So never regard this as a tragedy, it’s just a feeling.

Commentary:
It’s such an attractive experience the writer shares with us. As the writer said, it’s just a feeling, but it’s exactly such kind of feeling that we teenagers attached to, really. I appreciate this story a lot. There’s a famous saying by Rabindranath Tagore: “The world puts off its mask of vastness to its lover. It becomes small as one song, as one kiss of the eternal.”
The writer’s trying to use some simple words and sentences, and it’s very good. For writing, if not nec-cessary, do not use any big words. Big words would do nothing help to make your writingbetter. That’s my suggestion for Chinese students.
Anyhow, there’re some misused words. Such as “I have been totally silence(silent)”,“But for sure(But surely/sure enough)”, “It’s certainly (a) kind of a per-manent memory”,“We have been (became/were) classmates since (from) our senior high school”, “I had a strong basic skill of English knowledge (I liked English very much and also made a lot effort in it)”, “so we en-joyed a good time (repeat)”, “he was so practical(sepe-cial) when speaking English”...
The highlight of this article is obvious, and the writer mastered it very well. Keep going!
