Adapted from Richard Matheson’s novel of the same name, I Am Legend follows the last man on Earth as he struggles to survive while fending off[挡开] the infected[被感染的] survivors of a devastating[破坏性的] plague[瘟疫].
Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus[病毒] that was unstoppable, incurable[不能治愈的]…and manmade. Somehow immune[免疫的], Neville is now the last human survivor in New York City…and maybe the world.
But he is not alone. He is surrounded by “the Infected” victims of the plague. These victims have turned into carnivorous[食肉类的] beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour[狼吞虎咽地吃] or infect anyone or anything in their path.

We were the last human beings attempting to escape from New York City. A virus was let loose[放出] on the world, and has infected everyone with a plague which turns normal people into zombies[行尸]. As the last survivors, we stream down Dover Street toward the East River.
Straight ahead of us, Blackhawk helicopters are transporting[运送] the last few thousand of us away, landing on a pier[码头] jutting[突出] out under the Brooklyn Bridge. Panic ensues[接着发生] as we attempt to flee[逃走]. Police and armed soldiers hold us back while they seek to maintain control; but the crowd surges[汹涌向前] forward.
