It’s a new school year and anything is possible ?awesome grades and a totally rocking social life. Who says you can’t have it all?

  Great grades

Your goal: Straight As. Ok, maybe a B or two. The secret to school success is easier than you think.

  First impressions

The very first week of class, give your teacher a reason to think you’re an excellent student. Focus, write down assignments[作业] and take notes. Remember to smile and be polite. Also, approach the teacher after one of the first classes and ask a question about the lesson. When it comes time for the first quiz, study your butt[靶垛] off and earn the highest grade you can. Your teacher will recognize you as a good student and she’ll like you right away.

  Work it 努力学习

Stop doodling[涂鸦] in your notebook or dreaming about where to have fun after class when you should be studying! When you skip assignments you could be clueless[无能的] in class the next day. If it happens more than just a few times, you might be spending the rest of the semester[学期] playing catch-up. When you do the schoolwork on schedule and pay attention in class, you learn pretty much everything you need to know. Come test time, review your notes a night or two before and you should be good to go. It sounds simple because it is.

  Fab[难以置信的] friends

If you want to have a killer[杀手] social life, you’ve got to work it. Here’s how to make this the most fun year ever.

  Group dynamics

The key to a great social life is plenty of fun friends. Don’t spend your lunch hour or free periods whispering or gossiping with only one or two friends. Think big. Get a whole bunch of people to sit together and chat. The conversations will be more interesting and you’ll probably end up making plans with each other for the weekend. Don’t be afraid to include people from outside your normal circle. If you’re at a new school, talk to everyone ?the girl in your gym class, the guy who sits behind you in English or the kids on your bus. If you’ve been at the same school for years, seek out people you’ve never spoken to before or a new student in class. The more fabulous[难以置信的] new friends you find, the more fun and diverse your group will be!
