(一)玉米是我省山区人民的主粮和家禽家畜的精料。常年种植面积仅次于水稻。由于玉米种在土中,受到各种自然因素和粗放栽培的限制,因而产量很低,普遍只有300来斤(习惯亩)。我省旱地的耕作制度,以一年两熟为主,夏玉米占有相当大的面积,而多数的夏玉米,单产更低。怎样提高玉米产量,特别是夏玉米的产量,对增加我省粮食总产量及发展畜牧业,都具有十分重要的意义。基于此,1979、1980和1981年,在院农场职工的合作下,进行了夏玉
