我们有“从我做起”、“从小事做起”的口号,我今天却要提一个“从官做起”的口号。我认为这是前两个口号的补充,并且更有现实意义。 古人很懂得官的行为的榜样作用,所以有“其身正,不令而行”的名言。一些事情做得好,大都是由于官首先做得好;一些事情没有做好,则又大都是官没有做好的缘故。就说社会风气,历史上有较好的时候,也有不好的时候。较好的时候,则首先是官场的风气好;而不好的时候,又是官场的风气首先就不好。还没有听说过官场的风气好而社会风气不好的情况,更没有过官场的风气不好而社会风气却不错。这已经是被古今中外的历史和现实反复证明了的。 革命战争年代,冲锋陷阵时当官的常有这样一个口号:“跟我来！”第一个冲上去。这既是从我做起,更是从官做起。共产党领导的人民军队所以战无不胜攻无不克,原因当然很多,但“从官做起”肯定是很重要的一个。 五十年代流行过这样的话:“村看村,户看户,群众看的是干部。”干部做好了,群众也能做好。现在有些人常常怀念那时社会风气多么好,那时所以好,首先是官场的风气好,官员们首先能够从自己做起,才带动起了整个社会和全体人民。

There are, of course, many reasons for the invincibility of the People’s Army led by the Communist Party. However, “starting from the government” is certainly a very important one. Popular in the 1950s wrote: “When we look at villages and households, we see cadres.” Cadres are doing well and the masses can do well. Nowadays some people often miss the good social atmosphere at that time. Well then, the first is the good atmosphere of the officialdom. Officials can start with themselves and lead the entire community and all the people.
