In order to ensure the safety of CO2 transportation, starting from the consequence of CO2 leakage diffusion, considering the influence of phase change and gravity when CO2 leakage spread, using PHAST software to establish the leakage diffusion model of CO2 pipeline, taking the most unfavorable conditions as initial conditions, Assuming SLOD (lethality equal to 50%) at different valve spacings, the valve spacing under different levels of CO2 pipelines is determined. The results show that the valve room is not required to be constructed from safety considerations in the first level area. However, in order to facilitate the maintenance of the pipeline, the valve chamber can be established in the convenient maintenance area. In the second level area, the appropriate valve spacing can be selected according to the corresponding number of households, More than 60km; supercritical CO2 pipelines are not recommended in Grade III and IV regions. The research on CO2 pipeline valve spacing based on the assessment of the consequences of leakage spread provided theoretical support for the formulation of relevant norms of CO2 pipeline transportation in China and the safety evaluation and accident consequence analysis of CO2 pipeline.
