This article describes the absolute measurement of the activity of pure beta sources using liquid scintillation coincidence. A filter is placed between the scintillation vial and the photomultiplier to change the efficiency of the liquid scintillator. The count rates for the three tracks will vary with the anode current. N_1N_2 / N_e calculated by the Cox-Isham formula changes with the anode current. When the anode current reaches zero, the decay rate is extrapolated from N_1N_2 / N_e.
