Today, the population of many large cities in the world has become increasingly crowded, land prices have skyrocketed, and housing has been seriously inadequate. High-rise apartment buildings are competing to build. In Japan, where the country is small in size and highly populated, high-rise buildings have been developed since the 1950s. More than 2 million residents have lived in high-rise apartments so far. Japanese people are curious, adapt to the environment, and like to live in high-rise apartments. However, a series of problems have also been exposed in the use of high-rise residential buildings. Such as sunshine, fire prevention, identification, comfort of living, people’s psychological closedness, indifferent relationship, increased crime rate, and so on. These are not just technical issues but important social issues. The architect of the Sears Tower in the United States said: “Building a 190-story building today has no practical difficulties. It is not an engineering issue to build skyscrapers or how to handle skyscrapers in the city. It’s just a social issue.”
