The chirp characteristics of the wavelength-converted signal based on the cross-gain modulation effect in the semiconductor optical amplifier are analyzed. The effects of input signal light and reference light power, wavelength, slew rate, signal light extinction ratio and semiconductor optical amplifier bias current on the chirp of the converted signal are studied
