Orhan Pamuk’s bookishness reads Orrick Pamuk’s novel “My name is red” a (hereinafter referred to as “red”) and I can see the author’s bookishness. As he put it, “A bookish writer - not only wants to show what is going on in contemporary Turkey where he lives, but wants to show his rich heritage and its development.” B The novel repeatedly contains Turkish history The words on the chronology: the Timurid era, the Black Sheep Dynasty, the Turkmen army, and the historical figures of the time: the Ottoman Empire, Sudan, Pasha, and the miniseries of the courtroom. Is it possible that readers who do not know much about Turkish history or miniature painting tradition understand the novel? Is it not possible to define the novel from the perspective of the established Oriental Orient and Western Western?
