ONE YEAR ago Zhang GaoYong beeamean academician 0f China’s Engineering A-cademy, the first academician in Shanxi. Hismajor achievements are as follows: Aboveall, the steam - pressure data of direct -chain - alkan - basic - henzene isomer ofdifferent molecular weight; then the develop-ment of long - chain - alkan - hydrocarbondeoxy catalyst, which not only ends thelong - time import from USA at a high priceof US$l 12, 000 per ton every year but alsosaves 30 million yuan RMB every year for thestate, and in the meantime China has be-come a country to eam foreign exchangethrough the export of this catalyst. Mr. ZhangGaoyong as one of the leaders & ma jor re-searchers of this project was awarded the3rd - class national prize of invention;thirdly, Mr. Zhang was twice awauled the3rd - class national prize of science - & -technology progress because he put forwardthe new methods to solve the problem of thedrawhaeks in process of the production 0fmeth ester and alkan alcohol acyl amine. Inlate l980s he was awarded the splendid -fruits prize of the national“ 75” key sci-ence - research projects for he was in charge0f the major national scientific project“ theresearch and exploitation of the fatty alcoholmade with litsea - cubeba seed and itsderivative. In early l99Os he was awardedthe first - class prize of China’s light - in-dustry scientific & technological progress be-cause of his successful development andleadership of RuiDeSi 203 Bactericide.
