美国是一个以标榜学术民主、言论自由、个人平等和市场竞争为各大学及研究机构的旗帜和基本原则的国家。在人员的招聘上,这些也是起码的准则。如果哪个学术性机构有违背这些原则的嫌疑,有关人员可以向法院起诉,以维护宪法的基本精神和保护自己的合法权益。当然,标榜原则和实际操作并不一定一致。不过,美国大学和研究机构的招聘机制和规则还是值得我们留意的。
The United States is a country that lauded the banner and basic principles of academic and democratic institutions, freedom of expression, individual equality and market competition for universities and research institutes. In the recruitment of personnel, these are the minimum guidelines. If any academic institution violates the suspicion of these principles, relevant personnel may institute legal proceedings in court in order to safeguard the basic spirit of the Constitution and protect their own legitimate rights and interests. Of course, flaunting principles and practices are not necessarily the same. However, recruitment mechanisms and rules in US universities and research institutes deserve our attention.
