Among the several ancient civilizations in the world, the most abundant species of fungi in China are found, but these historical materials have so far not been well developed. There are many misunderstandings in the history of the development of the mushroom industry. First, there are problems with the research methods. Second, the historical materials are not carefully read, the history is mixed with the folklore or arbitrarily interpreted. Therefore, this magazine invited our famous bacterial culture history expert Mr. Chen Shiyu mainly to write, open “mushroom culture” column. The author will start with a careful study of the original historical materials and introduce and describe such historical materials in a serial manner with a view to popularizing the knowledge of edible fungi from a historical and cultural level.
