According to experts at the Edison Welding Technology Institute, using three sensors is better than using one sensor in testing high-power laser welding quality. They found that optical sensors, acoustic sensors and charged particle sensors can be used alone to inspect welds and achieve moderate accuracy. However, if these three sensors are used together, the inspection accuracy can be greatly improved.
