The predecessor of Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is the Institute of Geography of China, established in August 1940. It is an important research base of China's comprehensive source science research center and regional geography. Since its founding more than 60 years ago, I have focused on people and attracted and nurtured talents. Many young and middle-aged scientific and technological cadres have become famous scientists through many years of research and practice and have made great contributions to the development of geography and source science in our country.
