1、大蒜产量由亩株数,单株瓣数和平均瓣重三者构成、其中亩株数是群体性状,单株瓣数及平均瓣重是个体性状。在个体性状中,一般单株瓣数可塑性较小;而单瓣重受外界环境影响较大。在试验处理范围内,增加密度,单株重虽有相应减少,但不呈倍数性降低,这样对亩产量有相应提高。2、植株高度,单株最大叶面积,单瓣重量及单株叶片数与单株产量之间均有极显著的相关关系。所以,为个体创造适宜的生长条件,对提高群体产量有着重要意义。3、大蒜的生长及叶面积变化有年前及年后两个高峰,年前高峰出现在11月下旬,年后高峰在4月下旬到5月上旬。不同品种,不同密度间叶面积变化差异显著。晚熟品种在亩植六万的密度下后期光照不足。生长后期,在同一叶层内,叶面积每增加1,光强降低20%左右;同一叶面积系数下,光照每穿过20cm 厚叶层光强降低20%左右。4、不同品种在不同密度下,产量、质量、用种量均不同,因而导致经济效益有较大差异。因此从全面考虑,品种不同密度也应有所差别。生长弱的临颖蒜亩密度可达6万株;晚熟的苍山蒜和早熟多瓣的苏联蒜。以亩植4万株为宜。
