A 13-bit high-stability A / D converter (ADC) for use in a pulsed height analyzer for V-ray telescopes has been developed. Currently four are installed in the ball-mounted telescope system. Through experiments, these devices show that the integral linearity is 0.05% and the differential linearity is less than 2%. A simplified block diagram of the ADC is shown in the figure. The input signal is sent to amplifier A1 through switch S1 at the beginning of the conversion. The logic places the inputs on the ladder network by successive approximations.
