我之所以要把这篇译作奉献给亲爱的读者,是因为这本书的知识性和实用性吸引了我,因而决心把它译出来。原书名是《种苗读本》。所谓种苗就是“种子和苗木”,读本就是课本。结合全书的内容,按照中文的习惯,把题目定为《种子工作必读》。本书主要讲有关蔬菜种子质量管理中的技术问题。先阐述了如何保证种子质量的原理,然后又从贮藏、包装、干燥、消毒等各个具体方面做了详细的说明。全书共分十个章节:即一、种子的定义和重要性;二、种子的构造;三、种子的生理;四、种子的寿命;五、种子贮藏;六.防湿包装;七、种子的干燥;八、种子的消毒;九、种子加工;十、种子检验规程摘要。该书数据充分,令人信服。虽然主要针对蔬菜种子而言,但我们可以根据自己的需要,借鉴外人的方法,取得其它作物的技术参数,正确地运用书中介绍的理论和方法,将减少种子经营中的盲目性。译文中错误之处在所难免,本书原文由冯维芳同志提供;杨正艽、李统兴同志协助查寻资料,在此一并致谢。
The reason I want to dedicate this translation to my dear readers is that I am determined to translate this book because it is so informative and practical. The original title is “seedlings read.” The so-called seedling is “seeds and seedlings,” Reading is the textbook. Combined with the contents of the book, according to the Chinese habit, the title set as “must-see seed work.” This book mainly about the technical issues in vegetable seed quality management.
