落葵是一种保健,观赏菜。其叶卵圆形,前端尖,光滑无毛,有光亮,叶全绿。用其与豆腐、蛋花汤、虾仁作汤料,色香味俱全,而且有些粘滑,略有些像宴会桌上的名菜——莼菜的味道。据说嫩梢也可以炒食。落葵在各地的叫法不一,有木耳菜、皇宫菜、胭脂菜、软浆叶、豆腐菜、藤菜、汤菜、非洲菠菜等。它是一年生喜温短日照蔓性植物,属落葵科,常见的有绿落葵和紫落葵
