After World War II, multinational corporations have experienced rapid development. Statistics show that in the world market, the products produced by multinational corporations have exceeded one-fourth of the total capitalist world output. The direct investment linked with multinational corporations has greatly increased their foreign investment. In 1949, the U.S. foreign private investment reached 10.7 billion U.S. dollars In 1976 it increased to 137.24 billion U.S. dollars. The rapid development of transnational corporations is a clear symbol of the capitalist production and capital internationalization and is an aspect of the major changes in the production relations of contemporary capitalism. The study of the reasons for the development of multinational corporations has extremely important theoretical and practical significance for understanding the nature, characteristics and development trend of contemporary capitalism.
