Junior high school is in the stage of compulsory education. After primary schooling, students already have some basic knowledge of language usage. Therefore, the focus of junior high school language teaching is to cultivate students’ comprehensive ability to use language and literacy. This article starts with the instrumental and humanistic aspects of the Chinese subject and briefly discusses some experiences in junior middle school teaching. The language subject itself is instrumental in the first place. Through the study of the language, the student subject masters the basic linguistic competence and can interact with the living ring
