Various methods have been proposed for the determination of carbon monoxide in the air. Almost all of these methods are based on the reducibility of CO and often utilize the reduction from palladium salts to metallic palladium as this reaction can blacken the solution or the solution-impregnated filter paper. The various methods proposed according to this principle have many drawbacks, such as low reaction sensitivity, large volume of air required for the analysis, insufficient stability of the indicator, a change in the color of the disintegration when the time is long, and the like. We have developed a rapid method for the determination of carbon monoxide in the air by means of a sufficiently sensitive indicator that is stable under the influence of a number of factors in the surrounding environment and in the shortest possible time with CO
