从乌干达木塔卡地区的新矿床中开采出来的高岭土经过简单的过筛和水洗净化后,其最终产品的质量可以与另一种用作造纸填料的商品高岭土(Intramax 50)相媲美,特别是其良好的粒径分布。该实验用上述2种高岭土分别和重质碳酸钙(GCC)的混合物作为填料,在Euro-FEX辅助纸机上生产了2种超级压光纸。结果显示,木塔卡高岭土加填的纸张白度比商品高岭土对照样高2%,其不透明度却稍微偏低。实验结果预示着木塔卡高岭土矿床具有不错的工业开采价值。
The quality of the finished kaolin, which has been mined from a new deposit in the Muntaka area of Uganda, after simple sieving and washing, compares favorably with another Intramax 50, a commodity kaolin used as a papermaking filler, in particular Its good particle size distribution. In this experiment, two supercalendered papers were produced on a Euro-FEX auxiliary paper machine using a mixture of the above two types of kaolin and heavy calcium carbonate (GCC) as a filler. The results showed that the degree of whiteness of Moka Taka kaolin filled paper was 2% higher than that of the commercial kaolin and its opacity was slightly lower. The results of the experiment indicate that the Mu Taka kaolin deposit has good industrial production value.
