Near the equator, like a steamer, stands a snow-capped peak all year long, which is called Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest summit. It is located in northeastern Tanzania, near the Kenyan border. The snow-capped mountains along the equator have been mapped on the map of the world by the famous Egyptian geographer Ptolemy in the second century BC. However, the existence of the snow-capped mountains is so incredible that people do not believe it. By the seventeenth century, the first peak in Africa was even canceled on the map of Europe. By the nineteenth century, the presence of Mount Kilimanjaro was “confirmed” as all kinds of European explorers, scholars and missionaries went deep into the continent. This is really wonderful: it is 5,895 meters above sea level and 80 kilometers in diameter. Top of the mountain
