我市的教改,有两个特点:一是起步较晚,但有奋起直追的紧迫感。新余于1983年7月恢复省辖市,1984年,教育部门的组织机构刚建立,我们就着手抓教改。由于起步晚,领导特别重视教改问题,广大教师都有奋起直追的紧迫感。为能了解外界信息,我们首先采取请进来走出去的方式,以开阔视野,活跃我们的思维,打破教学中的封闭状态。从1984年到1990年,几乎每年都邀请省内外著名学者、特级教师和教改先进单位的同行

From 1984 to 1990, almost every year, famous scholars, special-grade teachers, and counterparts in advanced units of education reform were invited inside and outside the province.
