小说家以文学这一载体介入社会价值的传播自五四到当下几乎都显得从容自如,但作家既为写作对象又为写作者的“两面人”身份,往往又不能让作者拉开距离,仔细反顾自身。加上借由写作自身实现精神布道的动机始终存在,因而文本中的“自我”由此成了历史方面的冲动性叙述和始终维护纯粹的自我中心不断冲突的产物。这甚至成了一种创作定式贯穿于中国现代文学知识分子形象塑造的始终。
