铁道部科研院研制的铁道车辆轮对荧光磁粉探伤机(简称老3000型探伤机)是使用单片机程序控制的客货车车轴表面探伤专用设备,在车辆系统的安全生产中作出了较大贡献。但随着技术的进步和货车检修十条检修流水线的上马,不断暴露出该设备存在的问题,特别是在探伤工艺间需要统一布局的情况下,与哈科所生产的HTK-790型探伤机(简称新3000型)结构不一致,影响整体布局,所以对老3000型探伤机的改造势在必行。
