Reported a high efficiency Ti: Sapphire laser system consisting of a Littman cavity resonator and a single pass amplifier. When the pump laser (532um Nd: YAG) energy is 140mJ / pulse, the system outputs 22.5mJ / pulse at a single longitudinal mode near 800um. Conversion efficiency is 16%. The magnifying characteristics of Ti: Sapphire and the focus position of pump light of such systems are discussed.
