通过减少石油消耗和CO2排放量以保护全球环境免受污染对包括汽车在内的所有工业来说是重要的问题。住友橡胶公司决定以如下两点为目标进行开发非石油资源轮胎。一是增加非石油资源材料的用量;二是降低轮胎的滚动阻力以减少燃油消耗。通过用天然橡胶替代合成橡胶,用白炭黑替代炭黑;用植物油替代矿物油,用植物纤维替代合成纤维可以将非石油资源材料在轮胎中的用量百分比从44%提高到70%。橡胶的替代对石油资源材料在轮胎中的用量百分比和轮胎性能非常重要。通过采用环氧化天然橡胶可以改善轮胎的滚动阻力和湿路面抓着性能。
Protecting the global environment from pollution by reducing oil consumption and CO2 emissions is a significant issue for all industries, including cars. Sumitomo Rubber decided to target the following two points to develop non-oil resources tires.
