Since the end of 2008, the Australian Curriculum Evaluation and Reporting Authority has promulgated the Melbourne Declaration on Australian Youth Education Goals, which sets out the two purposes of this Australian curriculum reform. The first is that all schools can provide equality and excellence The second is to train all Australian youth to be successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and knowledgeable citizens. The specific implementation strategy is to organize the formulation and preparation of the national curriculum standards from the basic grade to the 12th grade (K-12) and to implement them step by step in three time periods.
