Nathan: Hey, Sandy! Having a good time?
Sandy: Oh most definitely. ①This is just what the doctor ordered.
Nathan: Did I see your boss here?
Sandy: Yup! He 1)blackmailed me. Told me that the only way I was getting the weekend off was if he was invited to the picnic.
Nathan: Well, hey, the more the merrier. And you were right:②he seems like a stand-up guy.
Sandy: I’ve definitely had worse bosses, that’s for sure. How about you? Enjoying yourself?

Sandy: It’s such a nice feeling. And it’s great to get out of the city for a bit.

Nathan: Okay, I’ll agree with that. It really is nice here.
Sandy: Yeah, it really is. I’m not sure why I don’t spend more time here. I didn’t even know there was a pond.
Nathan: Get out!
Sandy: Seriously, scout’s honour. I had no idea.
Nathan: I guess none of us really spend enough time outside, especially in the winter.
Sandy: Yeah, and you end up feeling so 2)cooped up, but you can’t figure out why, and then you get 3)cabin fever, and you think you need a holiday, but, really, you just need to go to a park.
Nathan: You’re probably not wrong. Have you had a chance to toss the Frisbee around yet?
Sandy: Oh yeah, we were messing around with it while Janna and Dori were setting up lunch. You?
Nathan: Not yet. I told the guys I’d join them in a bit.④I was hanging out with Jord and Alex.
Sandy: Oh really? Can you play?
Nathan: Yeah right, I wish. Nah, it’s just relaxing though, you know? ⑤Something about music in the park really floats my boat.
Sandy: I didn’t know you were such a 4)hippie!
Nathan: Haha, well just keep it under your hat, okay? I’ve got a reputation to think of.
Sandy: ⑥Mum’s the word. Anyway, I think it’s sweet. Nathan: Thanks! You know, maybe I should go chat up your boss. I’ve been seriously considering making a move into the environmental sector, and I think being out here in nature today has really solidified that for me.
Sandy: Really? That’s awesome, Nate! Well, if you want an in, I can make the introduction.
Nathan: For real? That would be great, Sandy.
Sandy: Sure! C’mon, I’ll introduce you. Hey, Jason…
