俗话说,“熟读唐诗三百首,不会作诗也会吟。”学英语也是如此。Nothing should be written before it has been read。如同上述所说,通过阅读,不仅可以增强语感,而且可以积累大量有用的词汇,在进行书面表达时就能做到信手拈来。那么,对于在课堂中,我们如何让阅读的效果达到最好,进而让学生达到写作的目的?做法如下:
1 课堂提问及回答问题
对于课文中的问题,也注意采用不同的方式。如在熟悉掌握课文的基础上,用简洁语句完整地回答与课文有关的问题。这类问题往往比较简单。对于归纳和讨论性的话题,鼓励更多学生参与,并启发他们通过不同方式回答。这既锻炼了学生的思维,又训练了他们在短时间内有效组织材料的能力。例如,在学过English around the world 一文后,我提出如下话题供大家讨论:Will Chinese English become one of the world English?学生立刻投入到讨论中,并做了如下回答:
S1: A large number of Chinese especially young people are learning English. English is communicating with Chinese culture. There will be Chinese English.
S2: Only time will tell. Now we know English is spoken widely around the world and it plays an important part in the world. If we learn English well, we can listen to English song, read English novels, travel in English speaking countries comfortably and communicate with foreigners easily.
S3:Also, it is of great help not only to our own development but also to the development of our country. The Olympic Games will be held in Beijing. Let's work hard and welcome it's coming.
这几位同学发言后,其他同学报以掌声。我也很欣慰,通过这样的课堂提问锻炼了学生们组织语言的能力和想象力,对写作能力的提高尤为重要。
2 仿写或改写课文
模仿写作是最基本的一种写作练习手段,有助于训练语感,锻炼思维能力,提高写作能力。
比如:以模块6 Unit Four Global Warming教学写议论文为例,简单介绍教学过程:
2.1 分析文章结构
第一段:开头点明话题。
第二段:用分类式的方法分析不同的观点,并阐明理由。
第三段:归纳总结或发表评论。
2.2 归纳常用句型并造句
Opinions are divided on the question.
People argue that… / They agree that…
… hold the view/opinion that….
… disagree / hold a different opinion that…
first,second ,third / on the other hand / besides /…
通过练习,学生运用课文中所提供的结构以及丰富的词汇在短文中均有较好的表现。
3 大量朗读及背诵范文
例如,在给学生进行基础写作训练的时候,我给了他们部分范文: Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to the Great Wall. The Great Wall, which is more than 6,000 kilometers long, is the longest wall in the world. It has a history of more than 2,000 years. It is made of stones and bricks and almost all the construction was done by hand without any machine. As the wall was built to defend the country against foreign invaders, there were watchtowers every few hundred meters along the wall. Now, the Great Wall is one of the most famous places of interest in China and it attracts many visitors every year.

I'm writing to tell you about the discussion we've had about whether an entrance fee should be charged for parks.
Opinions are divided on the question. 60% of the students are against the idea of entrance fees. They believe a public park should be free of charge. People need a place where they can rest and enjoy themselves. Charging entrance fees will no doubt keep some people away. What is more, it will become necessary to build gates and walls, which will do harm to the appearance of a city.
On the other hand,40% students think that fees should be charged because you need money to pay gardeners and other workers, and to buy plants and young trees. They suggest,however, fees should be charged low. 然后我要求学生朗读并背诵下来,通过这样的练习,学生对某种固定题材的写作有了具体的概念。
阅读教学是英语教学中最为关键的一环,英语阅读教学在发展学生的能力中起着无法替代的作用,通过阅读教学,它既可以促使学生储备丰富的语言基本知识,培养语感,为学生英语作文提供广泛的写作素材,同时又能陶冶学生情操,培养学生写作技能,从而对学生英语作文综合能力的提高产生重大影响。
