If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks[呷呷叫] like a duck, it’s a duck.
Restatement[重述]: All things are known by their attributes[特性].
Even under ideal circumstances[环境], no duck, no matter how noble or well-intentioned[好意的], could ever be an eagle.
Restatement: All things must be what they are.
A duck can pretend to be an eagle, except in times of adversity[
Restatement: Pretense[
and adversity are inversely[相反地] proportional[成比例的]; adversity reveals[揭露] the true nature of all things.
No duck may be an eagle, unless it abandons[抛弃] its webbed[有蹼的] feet and bill for talons[爪] and a beak[喙].
Restatement: All things remain as they are, until the attributes that define them are abandoned. Then, and only then, can they evolve[
Ducks are noble creatures. They should not be penalized[处罚] by any other creatures for not being eagles.
Restatement: All creatures are honorable[值得尊敬的], if they try to be what they really are, even if this means they are different from you.
The greatest duck that ever was cannot fly as high as even a modest[适度的] eagle.
Restatement: Those who soar[高飞] with the eagles, can not swim with the ducks.
Ducks flock[聚集]. Eagles fly alone. Ducks and eagles never mingle[混合].
