厌倦了一成不变的家具,想要换个环境却无奈囊中羞涩,怎么办呢?Hillary和Davy小两口就想出了一个一举两得的好主意。
Hillary: Oh I’m so sick of this living room!
Davy: Why? What’s wrong with it?
Hillary: It’s just…bleh! The furniture’s run down, the paintings are 1)hokey, the colour is so last decade…
Davy: All right, all right, ①I get the picture.
Hillary: Can we please redecorate?
Davy: Sure—②as soon as some money drops out of the sky.
Hillary: Oh honey, common, this space could really use a 2)facelift.
Davy: I’m not arguing that. I just don’t know where you think we’ll find the cash to do stuff like hire painters or buy new furniture.
Hillary: Sigh, I know. ③I wish it didn’t have to be so expensive just to give a little life to your home.
Davy: Well, maybe it’s something we can save for. You know, a goal.
Hillary: Wait a minute, I just thought of something!
Davy: Is this a 3)eureka moment?
Hillary: It just might be. Do you remember that show Trading Spaces where they would redo an entire room for $1000 or less?
Davy: I think I see where you’re going with this…
Hillary: Why don’t we 4)spruce up the place ourselves? We’ve got the internet at our fingertips to answer any questions, and it can’t be that hard to paint a room.
Davy: But what about the furniture?
Hillary: Let’s hit up the second hand shops or see if our friends would be willing to trade.
Davy: And you’ve got a bunch of old photos we could 5)blow up and frame for the walls.
Hillary: Now you’re talking! Plus, trying to do it creatively could turn out to be a 6)riot.
Davy: Alright, I’m in. Let’s start next week.
Hillary: Great! I’ll start drawing up a plan.
