On August 13, 1937, Japanese militarists brazenly attacked Shanghai and the flames of war burned to the banks of the Huangpu River. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the broad masses of the people in Shanghai were quickly organized to rise up and fight against the enemy. Women of all walks of life, women from all walks of life have made great contributions to the anti-Japanese national salvation in order to save the country from danger and make suggestions and contributions. At that time, I was a director of the Shanghai Women’s Refugee Relief Society. Under the leadership of Mrs. Xu Guangping, I directly participated in all the activities of the association. The extraordinary experience of this period, though still more than half a century later, is still deeply impressed in my mind. Now I recall and record these historical facts in order to pin my remembrance of the revolutionaries of the older generation and also serve as reference for investigators of the Anti-Japanese War history.
