Architect: ArchSD Location: No. 221 Queen’s Road East, Hong Kong Category: Restoration Keynote: To transform a post office in Wan Chai, which is a historical building, into the first environmental resource centre in Hong Kong. Since the area of the building and the area of the building are respectively 240 square meters and 100 square meters, the architect is subjected to the following system of elbow-making: 1. As it is a historical building, it is absolutely impossible to build additional buildings or small buildings. On it; Second, behind the building there is a barrier with a small ramp; Third, the interior decoration design, including the counter and the mailbox caused by the long oak bar make the plan difficult; Fourth, due to the pavement of Queen’s Road East will It will be widened, so it is necessary to remove the original staircase and build an entrance on an inclined road. Fortunately, the architect solved the above elbow restraint with high efficiency and rebuilt the building as a place to display environmental awareness. The entire program emphasizes the following characteristics: First, to broaden the horizon; Second, to change the space; Third, to integrate the East and West colors; Fourth, return to nature; Fifth, the application of the concept of green; Six, re-use of historical sites; Seven, focus on pattern design; Eight, clever use of colors and materials. The new construction includes the construction of a covered glass courtyard and a lily pond, so that the entire area can be doubled and a natural and harmonious feeling can be injected to match the purpose of building the center.
