我們的学校在提高学生知識質量上做了很多工作,并且著有成效。特別是可以指出学生在几何方面素养的巨大成就。但是,如同高等工業学校測驗总結(載于“数学教学法”1950年第二期),以及視察学校工作所顯示的,对几何中的某些章節,学生們理解得还是不够。“平面与直線”便是这类章節中的一章。也就是,与这一章有关的問題中,学生們經常都暴露了一般数学修养上的缺点,以及膚淺的实际知識。我們举几个例子來說明这种情况:
Our school has done a lot of work in improving the quality of students’ knowledge and has achieved results. In particular, we can point out the great achievements of students in the aspect of geometry. However, as summarized in the Higher Industry School Tests (contained in the “Physical Education Methodology” second issue, 1950) and the inspection of school work, the students understand that some sections of the geometry are not enough. “Plane and Line” is a chapter in this chapter. That is, in the problems related to this chapter, students often expose the shortcomings of general mathematics cultivation and superficial practical knowledge. We give a few examples to illustrate this situation:
