作为“唐宋八大家”重要成员的欧阳修和柳宗元,在文学上的关联,主要体现在三个维面:其一,两人同为“穷而后工”论的践行者;其二,文艺思想多有共鸣之处;其三,在文学创作风格上呈现出一定的趋同性。但欧阳修坚守儒家的“道统论”与柳宗元“统合儒释”的哲学思想有着明显的差异。关联性体现了两人相似的人生范式、文学价值观和审美情趣,这也是古代文化、古代文人的某些共性。由于两人在对待儒、释、道态度上的差异,导致了欧阳修对柳宗元文学地位的贬损,这也说明文学中的接受往往不是单一的,而是包含着一些复杂的因素。
Ouyang Xiu and Liu Zongyuan, who are important members of the Tang and Song dynasties, are mainly related to three dimensions: one or two are practitioners of “poor and later” Second, there are many resonance points in literary thought. Third, there is some convergence in literary creation style. However, Ouyang Xiu sticks to the Confucian “Taoist theory ” and Liu Zongyuan “integration of Confucianism and Buddhism ” philosophy has obvious differences. Relevance reflects the two similar paradigms of life, literary values and aesthetic taste, which is also the ancient culture, some of the ancient literati commonalities. Because of the differences in their attitudes toward Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, Ouyang Xiu’s denial of Liu Zongyuan’s literary status has also been explained. This shows that the acceptance in literature is often not a single one but involves some complicated factors.
