我們學校是去年秋季由武昌高中、武昌初中、文學中学三校合併起來的。校舍很狭窄,舊房子最多只能辨十六班,新建的房子有兩棟,一棟教室只有十二間,一楝寢室只能住三、四百人。場地看起來還大,但實際上一千多人在操場一起活動還是感到大大不够。開學時,武陽區中等學校統一招生委員會分配到我們学校的班数有初中新生十班,高中新生四班,連同舊生共有三十三班(一千六百一十五人)之多,已經超過了教室數目,因而確定我們学校在初中一年級試辦二部制。當决定試辦的時候,一般教師對二部制都無信心,認為『不正規』,恐怕降低学生文化水平,時間不好支配,雨天活動場所不够,学生家長不願意,调動班級上課麻煩,輔導學生校外学習有困難等等。很多教師建議能合併的班次盡量合併,能騰出來的房子盡可能騰出,最好不搞二部制。也有的教師根本就漠不關心,把二部制當『半日制』看待。上了两星期课,有的教師還问:二部
