From the Movie Meet Joe Black
选自电影《情约今生》
故事梗概：苏珊·帕里希是媒体大亨威廉·帕里希的女儿。在她父亲65岁生日的前一天，她遇到了一个名叫乔·布莱克的男子，让她怦然心动。但在拐角之处，乔被汽车撞死了。苏珊没有目睹这一幕，但情愫已暗暗种下。原来是死神取走了乔的性命，要借他的身体来阳世走一遭。于是，乔复活了，来到苏珊家里。他以延长威廉的阳寿为条件，要威廉担任向导，带他体验凡世生活。威廉答应了。从此这个男子住进了威廉的豪宅，与他的家人共起居。可令威廉始料不及的是，苏珊难以自拔地和这位死神坠入了爱河……

William: Joe? ①Joe’s not around.
Susan: Do you know where he is?
William: I don’t know.
Susan: Oh.
William: Why are you looking for Joe?
Susan: Love. Passion. 1)Obsession. All those things you told me to wait for. Well, they’ve arrived.
William: This is crazy.
Susan: Why? A man shows up, almost never leaves your side. Well, you clearly trust him, depend on him. So why aren’t those things good enough for me?
William: You don’t know anything about Joe.
Susan: What are you afraid of, Dad? ②That I’ll fall head over heels for Joe? Well, I have. Just like you did with Mom. Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted for me?
William: Susan... I don’t think Joe is gonna be with us long.
