Henry James is a famous master of literature in the late 19th century, whose literary works have a worldwide influence. Most of his novels are between American and European cultures. From the initial exploration of the impact of European and American cultures to the unification of European and American cultures in the later period, his greatest feature is the use of women as dramatic central figures. The author has shaped many vivid female groups in the novel text, which reflects the author’s feminist consciousness. This article analyzes the female group in Henry James’ novels by means of relevant theories and explores the self-pursuit and deep meaning of these fictional women in the context of European and American cultural collisions.
